Emerald Isle is part of North Carolina's Crystal Coast, a group of barrier islands that nose their way into the Atlantic surf.

The autumn is magical here. The pristine beaches stretch for miles, calm and uncrowded. A sea breeze moderates the cooler temperatures of the mainland - usually it's about 10 degrees warmer along the coastline.

The surf is still warm in September, but even walking along the water's edge is amazing. Witnessing a beach sunrise or watching dolphins frolic in the waves brings a sense of peace not easily found, nor forgotten.

Pelican House is part of Trinity Center which is operated by the Episcopal Dioces of East Carolina. The main retreat center faces the Intracoastal Waterway and the NC mainland; Pelican House overlooks the Atlantic coastline. There is beach access from the retreat property.Trinity Center is maintained meticulously and monitored for safety day and night.

Meals are provided by Trinity Center, which makes every effort to accommodate vegetarian and special diets.Pelican House was originally created as a silent retreat center. We will honor that sacred intent while inserting our own gentle energy into the space through song, dance, meditation and sharing.

The house is three stories tall, with a fourth level cupola that offers stunning a 360-degree view of the sound and sea.The cupola is the only part of Pelican House that is not wheelchair accessible; there is an elevator to the three main floors.

Pelican House is actually a large beach house with rooms that are cozy and comfortable. Some rooms face the ocean, some offer a view of the evergreen seashore forest. You will have your own desk so you can write, journal or daydream. Bedding, towels (including beach towels) and linens are provided. Oversize bathrooms are shared. A full kitchen with refrigerator and microwave is located on the second floor as well as a small refrigerator and snack center. There is absolute privacy and quiet at Pelican House.

A former marketing executive, business owner and professional writer, she has a long list of happy coaching clients. She is committed to helping women reconnect to their own inner wisdom and move into passionate possibility!
